Wade Pugh, a founder of and partner in Chewters Chocolates

Wade Pugh is a founder of and partner in Chewters Chocolates, a specialty chocolate manufacturer located on Annacis Island. They private label premium chocolates, including to the hotel industry which they supply things like “pillow chocolates”, the little treats left on hotel beds. They also have their own brand, ChocXO, a high-quality product you may see in various places, including Costco. Wade took us through the story of getting into the chocolate business with the founding of Chewters in 1984 and its evolution through the decades to present day. Wade’s son, Mitchell, took us through some of the intricacies of chocolate and manufacturing and how they have been expanding and growing in the last few years, with more growth and changes continuing. They have a store front at their manufacturing location where you can pick up some really sweet deals on some of their chocolates, you should stop by and check them out.
